I was thinking about how there are certain life lessons that everyone must learn to be able to achieve success in any endeavor and as I reviewed much of my own trials and circumstances, I realized that I worked through and “learned” most of these lessons, in some cases however, it did take a few times to get it. Learning these life lessons will lead to some of your biggest break-through’s in your life and allow you to achieve those huge goals you have been chasing. Which ones have you already truly learned?
The other evening while working with someone on their goals, the topic of motivation came up and when they asked the question in the title, I wasn’t completely sure how to answer it. Now, that’s not because I didn’t know the answer, on the contrary, I very well know how I would, and some of my mentors would, answer that question. But, the bigger issue was this wasn’t the first time that this came up and I wanted to come up with a better way to support my answer or suggestions about motivation.
“Success with Goals - Designing your Life with Purpose.”
What exactly does that mean? When I set out to write “Success with Goals”, I struggled because I did not want to write another typical “goals” book. But because I had already envisioned a series of books, I was convinced that the first book had to be about goal setting, as it all starts there. Without effective goals, you can’t know how to manage your time well. If you don’t manage your time well, you likely don’t communicate well, and even more likely struggle to manage others, and so on.
I once had someone say this to me, the gentlemen worked for me as a Regional Manager and we were discussing the challenges of focusing on certain sales categories over others. The discussion started with how to drive top line sales growth with new customer acquisition while continuing to enhance the bottom line with incremental ancillary sales. We were a retailer and each new customer was worth approximately $175 in Gross Profit, but we were trying to stretch that to $200 or even $210.
On Friday’s blog post last week, I introduced a friend and business partner of mine Casey Moran. I also introduced Casey’s break-thru new product The True Path Journal. I hope that if you are following my guidance at all, and you want to increase your chances of achieving your goals, that you reviewed this phenomenal product! I don’t rave or promote products too often, but this one is special.
I know that heading sounds a bit “out there” right? Well, the reality of that statement is unbelievably true. Let me start with this, a study done by the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), found that you are 65% more likely to complete a goal simply by sharing your goal. And, if you incorporate an accountability appointment with a person you know, like, and trust, you increase your chance of achieving that goal to 95%! However, you should already know this, if you read my book Success with Goals. You would already understand this value, but that is not today’s Goal Hack I am about to share with you, nope, this additional hack will increase your chances 10-fold. Do you want to know more?
